Bidding rose from $0.99 to $668.99 over one exciting week in early 2007 for a 1910 felt championship pennant commemorating the Philadelphia Athletics Club (predecessor of today’s Philadelphia Phillies). The sale set a record for a single sale item and helped produce a record sales week for Sweet-E-Repeats.
Lamb Founder Donna Mengel found the pennant at a yard sale and donated it to be sold on Sweet-E-Repeats, starting the bidding at 99 cents. Residents and staff couldn’t believe their eyes when bids began to jump by hundreds of dollars over the 7-day sale period, and ended with a final price of $668.99.
